How to clean your ceramic stove top

These appliances look fabulous…that is until you use them!  Then you are left with burnt residue from pots boiling over and grease splattering and they become a challenge to maintain.

Here are some tips for cleaning your ceramic stove top…

Try putting some water on the surface and turning on the element….a lot of times you can actually loosen the burnt residue back off and wipe it away easily.

If that doesn’t work you could try the scraper that came with your stove.  Please make sure you check your manual first as not all scrapers are created equal!  Some finishes can be damaged by certain types of metal so be careful.

On some stains we’ve had success with a small amount of baking soda and a soft sponge or microfibre cloth.  Mix a small amount of baking soda and water in a bowl or container to make a paste.  Then use small circular motions (don’t press too hard) with your cloth. Remember to clean the baking soda residue off before heating again.  You will need a lot of warm water and a soft cloth to rinse away all the residue.

I have read a lot about people using MAAS metal polish cream cleanser and having great success.  I have not tried this but will get some and give it a shot then let you know how it goes!

Failing all of that order in and don’t use it, EVER 😉
